This is my first full year at StarShine Academy, and I am excited to get to know the new children, and reunite with the kids I met last year. I graduated from the University of Arizona, in Tucson with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology, and a thematic minor in Minority Relations. While in Tucson I interned with an outreach program that worked with homeless children, and advocated on behalf of these kids to the juvenile courts. I later took this love of working with kids to the field of education, working with kids in special education.

I am a certified developmental specialist, and I am trained in behavioral modification. This will be my fourth year teaching at a charter school. I love the small classroom setting that StarShine Academy provides. It gives each teacher the chance to really know the kids. I also applaud StarShine’s philosophy of focusing on the whole child; mind, body, spirit, health, and wealth to foster a happy child and a future productive member of our society
